Parties
A bright idea
Rebel Art Class parties are uniquely fun and worthwhile events. With music, games, mess and the opportunity to try mind-blowing new art techniques. Plus, every participant gets to work on their own artwork and take it home in a special box. We offer birthday parties and other celebrations at our venues in south London for kids. Party FAQ
How many people can come?
Parties are for up to 20 kids.
How much does it cost?
Parties cost £350 for up to 12 children. Every extra child is £20. You can upgrade your package so participants get to work on their own quality stretched canvas (A2 size) to take home for £2.50 per participant.
What do parties involve?
Rebel Art Class parties take all the best bits of our classes and wrap them up with an extra dollop of fun, making for a unique mix of inspirational art education, silly games, wild dancing and lots of mess. Children (and adults, if they want to take part) will get to try a selection of the techniques we teach – from abstract painting to intricate doodling – with breaks in between for games and music.
What’s included in the price?
All materials and equipment for the kids to try multiple styles of big and/or messy art, including paints, brushes, sponges, markers, stencils, toothbrushes, squeezy bottles etc.; huge rolls of paper for them to practice on; boiler suits to cover their clothes; goggles; wash-up stations; guidance from two expert tutors; music; super-fun games; and we clean up all the mess afterwards. Plus, we make a ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ banner, and every child that takes part gets their own artwork in a special Rebel Art Class box as a souvenir of a fantastically arty party.
How long do they last?
Parties last 1h45m with a bit of time at the end to say your goodbyes (we ask that everything is wrapped up within 2 hours).
Do I have to confirm numbers straight away?
No, you can confirm final numbers up to 48 hours before.
When do I need to pay?
We require a £75 deposit to secure the party booking. You can pay the balance at the same time as you confirm final numbers.
Do you offer parties on Sundays?
Not currently.
Do you offer parties in other venues?
We can sometimes come to you, or another venue (e.g. a pub) but it takes some planning, so just drop us a line.
The date I want to book isn’t available on your calendar…
If you can’t see the date you want, feel free to drop us a line with your request.
Can I bring a cake?
Yes, you can bring a birthday cake – just say when completing your booking and we’ll make time for it at the end. We have a table you can use to serve but, please note, we work in studio spaces without kitchen facilities, so you will need bring any plates, cutlery, candles etc. and take away any washing up. We can dispose of litter.
Do you offer party catering?
We don’t offer party catering, but the venue (Kingswood Arts) does offer a selection of sandwiches as part of a birthday package – details here. If you’d like to take this option, let us know when booking and we will connect you with the catering manager at the venue. Food is served in the studio – there is a £15 charge for us to set up the space for this.
Can I bring my own food?
Outside catering can’t be brought into the studios, and they’re not suitable for preparing your own food. However you are welcome to bring simple snacks (e.g. bags of crisps) and serve drinks.
Can I bring a special birthday banner or balloon?
Of course! We create an extra-special (and very arty) Happy Birthday banner for the birthday kid/s, but you’re welcome to add your own.
Do I need to bring anything?
Not really – we have everything to make the party happen. We just encourage children to bring their own water bottles, and to wrap up on colder days.
Do kids need to wear anything special?
Rebel Art Class is a messy, hands-on experience, and we ask parents to put their kids in outfits they don’t mind getting messy. Kids wear boiler suits for the duration of the session, so best to avoid party frocks.
Will I have to do anything as part of it?
Good news – absolutely not. We ask that the parent/s booking the party stay, but that’s it. Get the kids to the venue and we’ll do the rest.
Do parents of the party guests have to stay?
Parents are welcome to leave once they’ve helped get their kids into their boiler suits. The parents of the birthday kid/s should stay, but we suggest no more than 8 adults remain in the studio for the session.
Can the grown-ups drink alcohol?
Yes, it’s OK to bring a small amount or beer or wine for adults who are staying.
Do you do party bags?
No, but we offer something even better – every child gets to work on and take home their own artwork. We provide special Rebel Art Class boxes so they can safely transport the art while wet. If you’d like to put anything else in the boxes (e.g. a packet of sweets) that’s fine. And you can upgrade your package so that everyone gets their own quality stretched canvas to work on for £2.50 per participant.
Can kids under four try it?
Three-year-olds can take part in parties, but their parents must be present. It’s not suitable for children under three, sorry.
Should we come before the start time?
It’s up to you. If you’d like to come and set anything up, you’re welcome to arrive up to 20 minutes before the start time. Or you can arrive with the rest of the guests.
Can I choose the music?
Absolutely, but we ask that you put any music you want to hear in a Spotify playlist and share it with us when booking.
